I'm using AutoCAD 2006 full version on my home computer. Everything was fine until the other day when I suddenly couldn't change the properties of any objects by using the pull-down menus at the top of the screen. Simple things like, the color, layer, dim style, etc. of any objects. Same is true for view ports. I can't change the scale or lock/unlock them with the pull down menus anymore. The only way to change the properties of anything is to do it in the Properties box.

Any ideas?? Thanks in advance.

For a presentation, I'm supposed to pack a bunch of Ecotect thermal readings together, for different Uw values of a window . I planned to present them as a simple gif animation, but now I wonder if it's possible to make it more interactive for later use. What way/program would you suggest if I wanted to have a slider that takes the animation through frames. Or even two sliders, one for size, other for Uw value?
Thanks heaps!!

Hello, I've recently started using autocad in english and am quite stuck at the silliest thing. Could anyone tell me wich is the alias for equidistant / parallel lines? I've looked it up on the list but as I'm not sure what the command is either I couldn't find it. Most alias are the same in spanish but, apparently, not this one...

Hey Guys ~ I work with Pro-Engineer Wildfire 3.0. Does anyone know if there is a way to mapkey the thick cables option, or have it set in the toolbar somehow (only in drawing mode)? Having to tools, environment, thick cables with each drawing I open is getting pretty tired.

I was wondering if anyone here could do me a favour..

I use Autodesk Architectural Desktop as Autocad.. and currently do not have any blocks for kitchens, baths, and basic room furniture.

It would really save me a lot of time measuring my own appliances if I could be directed towards a good source for these.. or perhaps a torrent file.. or even a zip?

I'm aware ADT has these.. but since I'm graduated I've largely forgotten most of that program, as I prefer to draw in 2D. If it's possible to import these into my current drawings, please let me know.

Thank you for any assistance!

Hi guys!
Maybe more experienced people could tell me, how to turn on double-click editing. I've changed DBLCLKEDIT variable to 1, but it does not help. Double-click editing of objects is nescessary for me. I have AutoCAD Architecture 2008 program.

Have anyone used ZwCAD, progeCAD and analogs?
These CADs cost much less than AutoCAD, offer full compatibility with 2008 and some more features than AutoCAD has.

Is it so? :)

Thank you.

Dear (industrial) designers, artists, engineers and others interested in shape,

We are three Industrial Design students at the Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands. We are currently busy researching the following issue:

Does the expression of shape vary in different languages?

Expressing terms of shape happens mostly instinctual, this is why certain applications aimed at designers and other people who work with shapes are not equally understandable for everyone; let alone what happens when shape terms are translated into other languages!

For this reason we are trying to reach international native speakers of English, Dutch, Russian, Surinamese, Tagalog (Filipino) and Bahasa Indonesia. (But other languages are welcome too).

Below are the links leading to info and the three parts of the test. It consists of 132 questions and takes about half an hour to fill in.

3 http://fs2.formsite.com/Researchanddesign/form964534176/index.html

Thank you very much for participating!

In the end we hope to have collected enough answers to compose “ideal” lists of shape terms that are adjusted to the user’s way of thinking, instead of the other way round. We expect this to result in an overall better understanding in for example, CAD-programs all over the world.

Best Regards,

Lorraine, Dasha and Stephan

My command line became undocked from the bottom and when I tried to place it back, it disappeared.  How do I get it back?

I tried closing my file and re-opening.
